A group of Arkansas coaches have recently received a crash course on treating eye injuries related to sports injuries.

During the training session, the coaches were shown how to use an eye kit which is designed to work in conjunction with a regular first aid kit. The kit has irrigating solution, sterile solution for contact lens wearers, contact lens cases, eye swabs, and eye pads.

The person giving the crash course covered such topics as how to treat superficial injuries to the eyelid, burns, the correct method for removing foreign objects from the eye, and blunt force trauma to the eye. All of the kits contain cards which explain how to deal with these injuries.
