A woman is suing two ophthalmologists for improperly treating her for an eye infection caused by her contact lens solution. The manufacturers of the contact solution have also been named as a defendant.
Brenda Keefer developed an eye infection after using ReNu contact lens solution. She was forced to seek medical attention for her eyes when the pain became excessive. Her suffering continued as two doctors improperly treated her for the infection, leading to blindness in one eye.
Keefer was being treated for acanthamoeba, a common eye infection for people using defective contact lens solutions. She is suing for diminished earning capacity, severe pain, emotional distress, and medical expenses.
